How It Works

The Capillus® NEURO uses non-invasive photobiomodulation — a process in which specific wavelengths of red (650nm) and near-infrared (850nm) light are delivered through the scalp to the underlying tissue. Inside the device, 140 medical-grade laser diodes are anatomically distributed to correspond with major functional regions of the cerebral cortex, enabling broad and consistent light delivery across areas associated with cognition, memory, attention, emotional regulation, and sensory integration.

Each session is pre-programmed to exactly 12 minutes and requires no effort on your part beyond wearing the device. It generates no heat, causes no pain, requires no drugs or topical applications, and produces no harmful radiation.

Before First Use

   Inspect the Device

   Before any use, check the Capillus® NEURO for cleanliness, cracks, sharp edges, and signs of corrosion. These conditions can irritate or damage your skin — do not use a damaged device.

   Charge the Battery Pack Overnight

   For optimal battery life, charge the Battery Pack overnight before first use. Insert the provided AC adapter into a power outlet, then connect the Battery Pack to the adapter. The indicator lights on top of the pack show the current charge level.

   Confirm Full Charge

   When all four indicator lights are on and static (no blinking), the Battery Pack is fully charged and ready for use. Disconnect the Battery Pack from the adapter, then unplug the adapter from the wall.

   Connect the Battery to the Healing Pod

   Locate the small white indicator arrows on both cables — the Battery Pack cable and the Healing Pod cable. Align the arrows, then push the cables together and secure. The arrows must be aligned for the connection to work properly.

Using Your Capillus® NEURO

1. 1
   Power On and Place on Your Head

   Press and hold the power button — located on the front of the Battery Pack — for 1 second. Place the Healing Pod on your head. A built-in sensor inside the device allows light to emit only when the cap is in contact with the head.

   Confirm Treatment Has Begun

   The emission indicator light on top of the Battery Pack will glow, confirming the lasers are active and the session has started. If you hear continuous beeping, it may indicate treatment was disrupted — check that the device is properly seated on your head.

   Remain Still for 12 Minutes

   The session runs automatically for 12 minutes. If treatment is interrupted for 10 minutes or longer, the session will restart from the beginning once contact is re-established. Note: the device will not operate while the Battery Pack is connected to the AC adapter.

   Session Complete — Three Beeps

   At the end of the 12-minute session, you will hear three longer successive beeps. The lasers will shut off automatically, the emission indicator light will turn off, and the Battery Pack will power down on its own.

   Remove, Disconnect, and Store

   Remove the device from your head and disconnect the Battery Pack from the Healing Pod. Allow the device to cool completely before your next session, then store all components in the Carrying Case.

Usage Guidelines

• Use for two 12-minute sessions per day for optimal results.
• Allow the device to fully cool down between sessions.
• Exceeding the recommended session frequency is unlikely to increase the benefit.
• The Capillus® NEURO may be used indefinitely, as long as it is operated according to these instructions.
• Never use while the Battery Pack is connected to the AC adapter — the device will not operate.
• Recharge the battery when only one indicator light remains. Disconnect the battery from the device between uses for optimal battery performance.
• Use only indoors at temperatures between 10°C–30°C (50°F–86°F), with a relative humidity of 15%–90%.

Care & Cleaning

• Clean only the silicone and outer surface — do not attempt to clean internal components.
• Wipe the exterior gently with a lightly damp cloth. Allow to air dry completely, or pat dry with a clean cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight while drying.
• Do not apply excessive pressure — this may damage the unit.
• Never use acetone, solvents, or chemical cleaners of any kind. These will damage the device and void the warranty.
• Keep the device completely dry at all times. Do not use in a bathtub, shower, or pool, and do not allow water to enter the device.
• If the device gets wet, do not charge or use it — the battery may be damaged. Follow disposal instructions.
• Store the battery and charging cord in a safe, dry location. Transport and store the device between 0°C–25°C (32°F–77°F).
• Store all components in the included Carrying Case between sessions.

Safety & Contraindications

• Eye safety: The light from the Capillus® NEURO may be harmful to the eyes. Do not stare directly into the laser light for extended periods. (Class 3R, 5mW; 650nm Red and 808nm Near-Infrared Laser Diodes)
• Photosensitizing medications or products: Do not use while taking medications or using products that cause photosensitization. Consult a physician before use if applicable.
• Skin sensitivity: Consult a medical professional before use if you are experiencing skin sensitivity or irritation.
• Stop immediately if you experience any discomfort during a session.
• Outdoor exposure: Do not charge or use the device if it has been left outdoors or exposed to outdoor conditions.
• Not for children under 18: Keep out of reach of children. Small parts that detach from the device are a choking hazard — dispose of them safely.
• Single-user only: The Capillus® NEURO is intended for use by one person only. Do not share, transfer, or resell without prior written consent from Capillus®.
• Do not leave unattended while the device is powered on.
• Limited-capability users: Not intended for use by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without proper supervision and instruction.
• No user-serviceable parts: Do not open, disassemble, crush, or attempt to repair the device. If the Capillus® NEURO is damaged, malfunctions, or comes in contact with liquid, contact Capillus® immediately at 1-888-571-5334.
