Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), like LLLT, uses visible red light without harmful UV rays. A 2012 study cited by the National Center for Biotechnology Information found no strong positive or negative effects of LLLT on tumor growth, suggesting it has no adverse effect on cancer cells.
